Getting started with Chatter
Keep your app updated
The Chatter team releases new builds with bug fixes and improvements almost every day, so it's important to keep your app updated to the latest release for the best experience. Here’s how:
- Initial login - Your app will be up-to-date once downloaded from the app store. Always make sure its on the latest version.
- Subsequent logins - The app will also auto update with new releases. In case you don’t see the most recent release, you can update to the latest build internally through your Chatter app. Go to Profile > Settings > Updates and tap on Check for Updates.
Report bugs or feature requests
Your feedback at this stage as a beta user is incredibly important to us, to help shape the future of Chatter. So, we’ve made it very simple to report bugs or suggest improvements.
- Simply shake your device from left to right, right to left, and our ticket system will automatically pop up on your screen.
- Select the ticket type - either bug report or improvement suggestion - and provide a description.
- Tap on the + button to grab another screenshot, record screen, or add a screenshot from your picture gallery.
- Tap on Submit to send the bug report or improvement suggestion.
Stay Involved
For new users, onboarding rooms will be hosted throughout the day on the Chatter app. Look for a “Chatter 101” room title on your home feed and join in with questions to get you started.
Also, most nights around 8pm Eastern Time, the Chatter team will host a live Town Hall just for beta testers. This is where you will hear about the latest updates to the apps as well as upcoming features and changes. Check the Upcoming Rooms section on the app's home screen and the Spotlight section on the discover tab for the next scheduled Town Hall and RSVP.
Keep in mind that the best way to explore Chatter and dive into all the features is to follow as many people as possible. This helps populate activity just for you, including new and upcoming rooms, conversations, messages, etc. We recommend you follow at least 20 people.
